How the tools work

Calculation and editorial methodology

Understand the assumptions behind a result before using it to make a decision.

Formulas and worked examples

Each business calculator states its formula and provides illustrative inputs with calculated outputs. The example uses the same calculation function as the interactive tool. Examples explain arithmetic; they are not customer results, forecasts or recommended business targets.

Financial arithmetic uses decimal calculations. Monetary values and percentages are normally displayed to two decimal places. Break-even unit counts round up to whole units. Rounding a displayed value can produce a small difference when you recalculate using that rounded value.

Automated checks cover numerical examples, missing or non-finite inputs and selected invalid business scenarios. These checks reduce calculation errors but cannot verify your input data or every real-world accounting situation.

Scope and assumptions

Use the same currency, reporting period and accounting definitions throughout a calculation. Currency selection labels values and does not convert exchange rates. Tax tools apply the rate you enter; they do not determine your jurisdiction, registration obligations, tax exemptions or filing amounts.

Simple models intentionally leave out factors such as changing cash flows, sales mix, inflation or fees unless an input explicitly includes them. Read the assumptions on the individual calculator page and independently verify important financial and tax decisions.

Articles and corrections

Articles are educational explanations published under the EasyToolDesk name. An organizational byline does not imply review by a licensed accountant, financial adviser or tax professional. Publication dates describe publication, and a revision date should reflect a substantive change rather than an automatic daily refresh.

If a result appears wrong, first check the formula, units, input definitions and rounding. Keep the calculator URL and a non-sensitive example of the problem. Contact options are listed on our Contact page when available.
